Owners, volunteers and contributors to The Tree of Life We believe child-bearing and rearing should be done as naturally as possible. It is to this end that we have developed and collected products to assist all parents in their lifelong quest to be the best parent they can be. We believe in and stand behind our products. If there is something you would like to see us sell in our store, please contact us and let us know. Amber~Joy, Kimberly & Jenne began the journey to create a place for parents to go to find the products they needed but couldn't find in conventional stores. This journey began in late 2003 and continues to date. Their love of everything involving bringing children into this world and assisting them in their quests to grow up created an easy bond of friendship. At the time they began working on this company, Amber~Joy was a SAHM to Nathan, 2.5 years old, and Steven, 11 months old; Kimberly was mom to Parker, 15 months old; and they had not met Jenne yet. They saw this as God's way of directing them in His will. Amber~Joy
Originally from Indiana, she moved to Ontario, Canada in 1999 to marry her husband, whom she met online. Two years later she gave birth to their first son, Nathan, and 17 months after that, their second son, Steven, and 18 months after that she gave birth to their third, Gabriel. That's 3 boys in 3 years. After the birth of her first son, she became a SAHM and never looked back. After the birth of her second son, she began sewing and selling slings under the business name Yes Ma'Am Slings. As she learned more about Attachment Parenting and realized it was what she was already doing, she began to look for like-minded mothers. At the same time she also began looking for places to find the products that would help her be the parent she wanted to be. This grew increasingly difficult. She had to hunt and peck through various internet sites to find the products she wanted and then was faced with high shipping rates because most of the products were being shipped from the US to Canada. There was nowhere locally to buy these products. Jenne
In 1996 at the age of 18 Jenne moved to Windsor Ontario from Sarnia. She had the need to be on her own at a young age. She did not have many friends her own age most of which were at least double - truly an old soul. She began studying nursing in hopes that this would bring the satisfaction derived from helping others she craved. After two and a half years into the training she realized she may have been mistaken. At this point she took a break on western medicine and dove into her studies as a Holistic Health care Practitioner, incorporating many healing modalities. Some of which include: Aromatherapy, Therapeutic Touch, Applied Resonance( the use of tuning forks on the body) Colon Hydrotherapy, Herbology, Reflexology, Acupressure Massage and most recently a total love and respect for Homeopathy. In 2000 she received her certificate in Practical Nursing. She spends the majority of her career working at an non- profit oganization for persons with physical disabilities specializing in those with Acquired Brain Injuries. She married her best friend in 2003 only to find herself happily expecting. It was only natural that she was drawn to Kim and Amber~Joy when she met them at a alternative health fair in January of 2004. Kim went on to assist Jenne and her husband Greg as their birth Doula - "after someone shares such an intimate experience its hard not to love them after that." Stella Louise Cox was born April 29, 2004. Believing in the whole of what they do at the Tree of Life , and working for a year as their betrothed "volunteer"Jenne joined the team officially in September 2005. Together
While discussing their mutual frustrations in locating products locally that promoted Attachment Parenting, both Amber~Joy and Kimberly voiced their desire to help bring these products to their community. That started the ball rolling and the dream seemed to take on a life of it's own. They credit God and their supportive friends and family with the opportunities and success they have experienced thus far. In the summer of 2005 The Tree of Life was getting quite busy and we needed another wise, spiritual and educated woman to join the ranks of ownership. This is when Jenne graciously accepted the offer to be a part of the team of women who head up The Tree of Life. Jenne had been a faithful and devoted friend and advisor from early on and was the perfect addition to our family. |
